Where To Dance This Week
July 10 through July 13
Thursday
If you don’t know what to do on a Thursday, chances are, your answer lies behind a pair of heavy drapes on Wythe Avenue. There’s beauty in consistency, and reliability. Eli & Gabriela are just that. Get there early (before 10PM and entry is free), find your space, and soon enough you’re embarrassingly misty-eyed over Eli’s somehow endless crate of Lana del Rey remixes.
Friday
Walk those sweet cheeks up the Williamsburg Bridge around 6PM. We’ll be up there dancing ‘til we get kicked out or get tired, whichever comes first. Later, the wave of excellent DIY parties continues. This week’s edition will feature a live set from local spellcaster K Wata. Expect deep and heady cuts. Doors are at 9P, location TBD and tickets are available here for $27.
Saturday
Head down to Gowanus for an evening in the Public Records Atrium. Jubilee, a Gabriela standby, and Parisian legend Bambounou will provide a blissful soundtrack to your roof-less evening. Doors are at 11PM and tickets are available here for around $28.
Sunday
There are certain parties that don’t need explaining. Public Service is one of them. Maria Hernandez Park, 2-8PM, free. Joy for all!
If you’re still wound up at 8PM, head back to Gabriela to catch Brooklyn-local JKriv. Expect a delightful mix of house and disco from the Razor ‘n’ Tape boss. Entry is free.
That’s it for this week! As always, recommendations are available via phone at:
